Application

The Milli-Q® Direct system delivers ultrapure (Type 1) water, recommended for critical laboratory applications such as HPLC, GC, GF-AAS, and other advanced analytical techniques. It can also be used for molecular biology (PCR, etc.) and biochemistry. It is also used in mass spectrometry tissue imaging. The system also delivers pure (Type 3) water is the lowest laboratory water grade, recommended for glassware rinsing, heating baths and filling autoclaves, or to feed ultrapure (Type 1) lab water systems.

This is a web reference. The end letters "WW" will be replaced by the country letters on your invoice to have the right shipping kit for the country. This ensures you receive the user manual in the local language and a power cord adapted to the local electrical network. The indicated price currently corresponds to the above catalogue number only; it is subject to change at any time without notice. This catalogue number does not include consumables, accessories and other products and/or services that may be required for the installation and the correct operation of the water purification unit over time. Because our customers each have specific purified water needs, we recommend that you have your purchase validated by one of our specialists. Features and Benefits

Prepare solutions with low flow function to precisely adjust the meniscus in volumetric flasks. 75 cm long tubing reaches the sink for easy glassware washing at mid or high flow (up to 2 L/min.). A dispensing arm is designed to fit all laboratory glassware. The volumetric function automatically delivers a pre-set water volume. The compact unit can be installed on a wall or benchtop to optimize lab space. Provides manual and volumetric water dispense at a high flow rate. Built-in Photooxidation UV lamp for TOC reduction & measurement High recovery Reverse Osmosis produces pure water at low cost. Large digital & graphic screen with detailed procedures for full online support. QPak® and Progard® polishing cartridge – with RFID tag for safety & traceability. Application-Paks adapted to remove specific contaminants.Easy access to information and reduced maintenance Simplified and detailed information in (local language). Alerts & alarms: System alerts for consumable replacement and scheduled maintenance. Sensors regularly monitor the operation of the system to ensure it operates within specifications. Quick Reference Guide to understand the operation and maintenance of the system. Complete and detailed user manual in 8 languages on CD-ROM. Pack and cartridge replacement takes less than five minutes. RFID tag automatically registers catalog and other new consumables in system memory.

General description

Milli-Q® Direct Water Purification System is an all-in-one system that delivers pure and ultrapure water directly from tap water. The system: Delivers quality: Exceeds the requirements of the most demanding norms. Offers convenience: Manual and volumetric water dispensing at low and high flow rate. Has a low footprint: Wall or bench-integrated installation. Allows low running costs.Pure water: Tap water is first purified to Type 3 water by reverse osmosis (RO) techniques. Progard® cartridge protects the RO membrane, increasing its lifetime. High recovery RO minimizes tap water usage by maintaining water quality and a constant flow rate. Bactericidal UV lamp (optional) reduces risk of bacterial contamination. RO water is stored in a polyethylene (PE) tank designed to minimize risks of contamination during water storage. Vent filter provides effective protection against airborne contaminants Automatic Sanitization Module (ASM, optional), prevents bacterial growth and biofilm formation inside the storage tankPure water can be either sourced through the tank front valve or sent by a distribution pump to feed instruments such as a glassware washing machine, or further processed by the system to produce ultrapure (Type 1) water. Ultrapure water: RO water is purified in the first step using unique Jetpore® ion-exchange resin, synthetic activated carbon and a photooxidation UV lamp to reach a resistivity of 18.2 MΩ.cm at 25° and a TOC value below 5 ppb; both values are monitored by advanced analytical techniques. The water is then passed through a recirculation loop to the Application-Pak, where a final purification step, critical for specific experiments, removes contaminants just before water leaves the system.
