General description
Acute phase proteins are a class of proteins whose circulating concentrations increase (positive acute phase proteins) or decrease (negative acute phase proteins) in response to inflammation. This response is called the acute phase reaction or acute phase response. In recent years several new acute phase proteins have been identified, some of which are secreted from adipose tissue. MILLIPLEX® Mouse Acute Phase Magnetic Bead Panel 2 is a 6-plex kit to be used for the simultaneous quantification of any or all of the following analytes in mouse serum or plasma samples, mouse tissue extract, or cell/tissue culture supernatant samples: Adipsin (Complement Factor D), Alpha-1 Acid Glycoprotein (AGP), C-Reactive Protein (CRP), Haptoglobin (HPTGN), Alpha-2 Macroglobulin (A2M) and Serum Amyloid Protein/Pentraxin-2 (SAP). This kit uses a 96-well format, contains a lyophilized standard cocktail, two internal assay quality controls and can measure up to 38 samples in duplicate. The Luminex® xMAP® platform uses a magnetic bead immunoassay format for ideal speed and sensitivity to quantitate multiple analytes simultaneously, dramatically improving productivity while conserving valuable sample volume.
