General description
Adipocytes secrete several hormones called adipokines with functions that include appetite and energy balance and insulin sensitivity. One of these, adiponectin, is involved in the regulation of lipid and glucose metabolism, influencing the body’;s response to insulin. Its anti-inflammatory effects on the cellular lining of blood vessel walls may explain the association of high adiponectin levels with reduced risk of heart attack. MILLIPLEX® Mouse Adiponectin Single Plex Kit is to be used for the simultaneous quantification of Adiponectin in mouse serum, plasma, tissue/cell lysate and culture supernatant samples. This kit uses a 96-well format, contains a lyophilized standard cocktail, two internal assay quality controls and can measure up to 38 samples in duplicate. The Luminex® xMAP® platform uses a magnetic bead immunoassay format for ideal speed and sensitivity to quantitate multiple analytes simultaneously, dramatically improving productivity while conserving valuable sample volume.
