Octaethylene glycol monododecyl ether has been used in a study to assess intestinal sodium transport mechanisms. It has also been used in a study to investigate interactions between dyes and surfactants in inkjet ink used for textiles.
Detergent used for the study of membrane proteins in a native-like state, e.g. ATPase. Used in a mixed micellar assay for lipoxygenase acting at neutral pH and for functional reconstitution of influenza virus envelopes.
