Immunogen
The epitope recognized by PLA0248 maps to a region between residue 679 and 729 of human BRCA1-associated protein 1 using the numbering given in entry NP_004647.1 (GeneID 8314).
Other Notes
BRCA1-associated protein 1 (BAP1) functions as a C-terminal ubiquitin hydrolase and may be involved in the transduction of signals in the BRCA1 pathway. BAP1 is also implicated to be a tumor suppressor as defects in BAP1 are found in non-small cell lung cancer cell lines.
