Immunogen
The epitope recognized by PLA0053 maps to a region between residues 25 and 75 of human Stromal Antigen 1 using the numbering given in entry NP_005853.2 (GeneID 10274).
Other Notes
SA1 is a component of the multisubunit cohesin complex. Cohesin functions to hold sister chromatids together during meiosis and mitosis and ensure proper segregation of chromosomes. SA1 has also been identified as a mediator of p53 induced apoptosis.
