Application
Immunohistochemistry Analysis: A 1:50 dilution from a representative lot detected Anoctamin-1/TMEM16A in human prostate cancer sections.
This Anti-Anoctamin-1/TMEM16A Antibody, clone 5F8.1 is validated for use in western blotting & IHC for the detection of Anoctamin-1/TMEM16A.
General description
Discovered on gastrointestinal stromal tumors protein 1 (Dog1), also known as Anoctamin-1/TMEM16A, is a novel multi-pass membrane protein belonging to the anoctamin family. Anoctamin-1/TMEM16A functions as a Ca2+-activated Cl- channel and is a required component of tracheal development. Expression of Anoctamin-1/TMEM16A is elevated in the gastrointestinal stromal tumors (GISTs), KIT signaling-driven mesenchymal tumors of the GI tract. It is also expressed at more moderate levels in epithelia from foregut, kidney, lung, pancreas and salivary glands. Recent studies suggest that it may serve a roll as a diagnostic marker in the classification of GISTs.
