General description
T cell receptor (TCR) is a single-pass membrane protein that associates with CD3 to form a CD3/TCR complex. It can be a heterodimer of either alpha and beta chains or gamma and delta chains. CD3/RCR complex plays major role in antigen recognition and activation of T cells. The V gamma 1 gene almost exclusively rearranges to the J gamma 4-C gamma 4 gene. V-gamma 1- J gamma 4-C gamma 4 expressing cells form a major population of gamma/delta T cells in thymus and peripheral lymphoid organs in adult mice. However, during early development they are present in lower numbers. This antibody (clone 2.11) recognizes the V gamma 1.1 chain of the heterodimeric gamma/delta T-cell receptor, but does react with TCR alpha/beta bearing cells.
Immunogen
Irradiated TCR gamma/delta expressing T3 .13.1 hybridoma cells.
