Application
This Anti-Endophilin-A1 Antibody is validated for use in WB for the detection of Endophilin-A1.
Western Blot Analysis: 1:500 dilution from a previous lot detected Endophilin-A1 in 10 µg of rat brain and mouse brain membrane tissue lysates.
General description
A member of the Endophilin family, Endophilin A1 is a protein containing SH3 domains, and has been implicated in the trafficking of clathrin-mediated synaptic vesicle endocytosis within the membrane. It was originally characterized as a presynaptically enriched protein that binds to endocytic proteins polyphosphoinositide synaptojanin and dynamin. Endophilin A1 has been implicated in endocytic vesicle budding when its function in cell-free systems and in living synapses has been disturbed. Along with the SH3 domain, Endophilin A1 contains a BAR domain in the N-terminal region, that has been found to induce and bind membrane curvature. This protein's expression is localized to the brain, most specifically in the frontal cortex. Markedly high expression is observed in fetal cerebellum.
