Analysis Note
ControlRat adrenal tissue lysate
Application
Immunohistochemistry Analysis: A 1:4,000-8,000 dilution from a representative lot detected Cytochrome P450 (scc) in rat adrenal gland and rat testis tissue.
This Cytochrome P450 (scc) antibody is validated for use in WB & IHC for the detection of the Cytochrome P450 (scc) protein.
General description
As a member of the cytochrome P450 family, Cytochrome P450 Side Chain Cleavage Enzyme (scc) catalyzes the side-chain cleavage reaction of cholesterol to pregnenolone during the first step of steroid biosynthesis. It is expressed in certain organs, such as ovaries, adrenal glands, and testis. Deficiency in CYP11A1 is commonly associated with adrenal insufficiency, and with variable degrees of disorder of sex development (DSD).
Immunogen
KLH-conjugated linear peptide corresponding to the C-terminus of rat Cytochrome P450 (scc), a.a. 509-526.
Linkage
Replaces: AB1294
Other Notes
Concentration: Please refer to the Certificate of Analysis for the lot-specific concentration.
Quality
Evaluated by Western Blot in rat adrenal tissue lysate.
Western Blot Analysis: 0.02 µg/mL of this antibody detected Cytochrome P450 (scc) in 10 µg of rat adrenal tissue lysate.
Specificity
This antibody recognizes the C-terminus of Cytochrome P450 (scc), a.a. 509-526.
Target description
~52 kDa observed. On higher percentage gels and longer exposures, 8 kDa cleavage product can be detected.
