Application
This Anti-acetyl-Histone H4 (Lys16) Antibody, AlexaFluor™ 488 is validated for use in Immunocytochemistry for the detection of acetyl-Histone H4 (Lys16).
Immunocytochemistry Analysis: A 1:100 dilution from a representative lot detected acetyl-Histone H4 (Lys16) in A431 and NIH/3T3 cells.
The unconjugated antibody (Cat. No. 07-329) is shown to be suitable also for ChIP, ChIP-seq, Western blotting, multiplex assay, dot blot applications.
General description
Histone H4 (UniProt P02309) is encoded by the HHF1 (ORF YBR0122; Gene ID 852294) and HHF2 (ORF N2752; Gene ID 855701) genes in yeast species. Histone H4 is one of the 5 main histone proteins involved in the structure of chromatin in eukaryotic cells. Featuring a main globular domain and a long N terminal tail, H4 is involved with the structure of the nucleosomes of the ′beads on a string′ structure. Acetylation of histone H4 occurs at several different lysine positions in the histone tail and is performed by a family of enzymes known as Histone Acetyl Transferases (HATs).
Immunogen
Ovalbumin-conjugated, synthetic peptide (R30;GAAcKRH R30;) in which AcK corresponds to residue 16 of yeast histone H4.
Epitope: H4K16ac
