A cytochalasin B-sensitive carrier located in the membrane, GLUT-5 appears to be primarily functional as a fructose transporter. It is expressed in the small intestine, and is also found in the skeletal muscle, kidney and adipose tissue but at significantly reduced levels.
Immunogen
Synthetic peptide corresponding to the C-terminus of rat GLUT-5 (aa 490-502) coupled to KLH. The immunogen sequence used is only 53% conserved in mouse.
Epitope: C-terminus
Linkage
Replaces: AB1348
Physical form
Liquid containing 0.05% sodium azide.
Unpurified rabbit serum
Quality
Evaluated by Western Blot in Mouse kidney lysate.
Western Blot Analysis: A 1:1000 dilution of this antibody detected GLUT-5 in 10 µg of mouse kidney lysates.
Specificity
Recognizes GLUT-5.
