General description

Histone H4 is one of the 5 main histone proteins involved in the structure of chromatin in eukaryotic cells. Featuring a main globular domain and a long N terminal tail H4 is involved with the structure of the nucleosomes of the ′beads on a string′ structure.

Western Blot Analysis:
0.1-0.5 µg/mL of this lot detected Histone H4 in acid extracts of HeLa cells treated with or without 5 mM sodium butyrate. This lot did not cross react with Histone H2A, Histone H2B or Histone H3.

Broad species cross-reactivity expected.

Recognizes Histone H4, Mr 10 kDa.
