Zeulab Device for automation of Eclipse test in plate format

The Comet32 is an autonomous system that coupled to Zeulab microtiter plate tests, allows to simplify and standardise the screening of a broad range of antibiotics in milk. Comet32 performs the Eclipse 4G antibiotic screening assay automatically and interprets the results objectively. Just apply a drop of milk to the Eclipse test and Comet32 will incubate and stop the assay automatically; interpreting and saving the results in the device. Comet32 helps you to standardise the antibiotics assay and to manage samples, using four different sets (1-8 samples), individually or together.

Comet32 incubates the tests, and measures the colour changes in real time to monitor the bacteria growth kinetics. An internal software integrates colour and time parameters to determine the endpoint of the assay and interprets the results. The results are shown on the screen and stored to guarantee full traceability.

Eclipse test is based on the growth inhibition of the Geobacillus stearothermophilus bacterium. In a specific culture medium and under suitable conditions, the spores of this bacterium germinate and multiply, acidifying the medium, producing a colour change in the culture medium from blue to yellow. If the milk sample contains an antimicrobial concentration higher than the test detection limit, the bacterial growth is inhibited and therefore the colour change of the medium will not occur.
