The surrounding bulit-in reservoirs, when filled with sterile water or media, act as evaporation barriers, yielding consistency across the entire 96-well plate. Enabling the use of all 96 wells in a plate allows researchers to plan experiments more efficiently with enhanced productivity and less waste for cell-based assays that require extended incubation.
