Biochem/physiol Actions
Galactosyl Cholesterol (GalChol) is used in the preparation of vesicles. The vesicles formed with GalChol is more stable in vivo and have higher half-life period. GalChol aggregates becomes larger in chloroform. GalChol has lower activation energy and do not form complexes in bilayer plane. Borrelia sp. possesses GalChol, binds cholesterol and a molecule of D-galactose in the place of D-glucose.
