Biochem/physiol Actions
IL-37 (interleukin 37) acts as a suppressor for innate immunity and acquired immunity. IL-37 participates in the immunosuppressive property of human CD4+CD25+ regulatory T cells. It represses the synthesis of several pro-inflammatory cytokines like IL-1α, IL-1β, IL-6, IL-12, granulocyte colony-stimulating factor (G-SCF), granulocyte-macrophage colony-stimulating factor (GM-CSF) and TNF-α (tumor necrosis factor alpha). It plays an important role in adaptive immunity.

Immunogen
Antibody was raised against a 17 amino acid peptide near the amino terminus of human IL-37.
Linkage
The action of this antibody can be blocked using blocking peptide SBP3500952.
