Immunogen
The epitope recognized by PLA0171 maps to a region between residue 1525 and 1575 of human silencing mediator of retinoic acid and thyroid hormone receptor alpha using the numbering given in entry AAD20946.1 (GeneID 9612).
Other Notes
SMRT (silencing mediator of retinoid and thyroid hormone receptor) mediates gene repression by interacting with nuclear receptors such as the thyroid hormone receptor, retinoic acid receptor, progesterone receptor, androgen receptor, estrogen receptor, and glucocorticoids receptor. SMRT mediates repression by associating with SIN3A/B and the histone deacetylases, HDAC1 and HDAC2, and promoting the formation of repressive chromatin structures.
