Application
Suitable as a blocking agent using corresponding antibodies.
Biochem/physiol Actions
CHRM1 is activated by acetylcholine and it regulates multitude of physiological processes of the central and peripheral nervous system. It is also associated with learning, cognition and memory. CHRM1 is allosterically regulated and is a prime target for drug design in disorders of central nervous system. CHRM1 receptor modulation improves cognitive function. Elevated levels of CHRM1- acetylcholine complex is observed in patients with Alzheimer′s disease. Single polynucleotide polymorphisms in CHRM1 is observed in patients with schizophrenia. Mutations in the CHRM1 gene locus is associated with facial impairment and developmental delay.

General description
Recombinant protein fragment of Human CHRM1 with N-terminal His6ABP (ABP = Albumin Binding Protein derived from Streptococcal Protein G) fusion tag. Cholinergic receptor, muscarinic 1 (CHRM1) is also known as muscarinic acetylcholine receptor M1 (mAChRs). It encoded by gene CHRM1 located on human chromosome 11q12.3. Cholinergic receptor, muscarinic 1 (CHRM1) belongs to G protein-coupled receptors and comprises of 5 subtypes: M1 to M5.
