General description
BTG3 is a tumor suppression protein because overexpression impairs serum-induced cell cycle progression from G0/G1 to the S phase in vitro. BTG3 is often down regulated in cancer cell lines, and thus BTG3 is a target for enhanced cancer therapy. In normal cells BTG3 inhibits cell proliferation, cell invasion, and angiogenesis, and also regulates cell-cycle progression and differentiation in a variety of cell types. Developmentally BTG3 is normally expressed primarily in the brain and CNS during development where is modulates cell proliferation. In the adult expression is high in ovary, testis, prostate, thymus and lung. It is not expressed strongly in many cancers.
Immunogen
GST-tagged recombinant protein corresponding to human BTG3.
Other Notes

Purified rabbit polyclonal in buffer containing 0.1 M Tris-Glycine (pH 7.4), 150 mM NaCl with 0.05% sodium azide.
Quality
Evaluated by Western Blotting in IMR-90 cell lysate.
Western Blotting Analysis: A 1:500 dilution of this antibody detected BTG3 in 10 µg of IMR-90 cell lysate.
Specificity
This antibodies immunogen is 94% identical in mouse and 92% identical in rat.
Storage and Stability
Stable for 1 year at 2-8°C from date of receipt.
Target description
~37 kDa observed. Uncharacterized bands may be observed in some lysates. The calculated molecular weight of this protein is 29 kDa, but can be observed at ~37 kDa due to alternate splice variants.
