KLH-conjugated linear peptide corresponding to 20 amino acids from the N-terminal region of human Stathmin-2.
Legal Information
ZooMAb is a registered trademark of Merck KGaA, Darmstadt, Germany
Physical form
Purified recombinant rabbit monoclonal antibody IgG, lyophilized in PBS with 5% Trehalose, normal appearance a coarse or translucent resin. Contains no biocide or preservatives, such as azide, or any animal by-products. Larger pack sizes provided as multiples of 25 µL.
Reconstitution
30 µg/mL after reconstitution at 25 µL per vial. Please refer to guidance on suggested starting dilutions and/or titers per application and sample type.
Specificity
Clone 1B3 is a ZooMAb rabbit recombinant monoclonal antibody that specifically detects Stathmin-2. It targets an epitope within 20 amino acids from the N-terminal region.
Storage and Stability
Recommend storage of lyophilized product at 2-8°C; Before reconstitution, micro-centrifuge vials briefly to spin down material to bottom of the vial; Reconstitute each vial by adding 25 µL of filtered lab grade water or PBS; Reconstituted antibodies can be stored at 2-8°C, or -20°C for long term storage. Avoid repeated freeze-thaws.
Target description
Stathmin-2 (UniProt: Q93045; also known as Superior cervical ganglion-10 protein, Protein SCG10) is encoded by the STMN2 (also known as SCG10, SCGN10) gene (Gene ID: 11075) in human. Stathmin-2 is a neurophosphoprotein that acts as a regulator of microtubule stability. It is a peripheral membrane protein that is also found in Golgi and endosomes. Its membrane attachment domain is localized in amino acids 1-26 and phosphorylation/regulatory domain is in amino acids 39-96. When phosphorylated by MAPK8, it stabilizes microtubules and consequently controls neurite length in cortical neurons. Its N-terminal palmitoylation promotes specific anchoring to the cytosolic leaflet of Golgi membranes and subsequent vesicular trafficking along dendrites and axons. In the developing brain, it is reported to negatively regulate the rate of exit from multipolar stage and retards radial migration from the ventricular zone. Stathmin-2 is considered as novel regulator of glucagon secretion and its expression has been reported in murine pancreatic alpha cells where its overexpression increases localization of glucagon into the endosomal-lysosomal compartment and depletion results in reduced endosomal localization of glucagon. This ZooMAb recombinant monoclonal antibody, generated by our propriety technology, offers significantly enhanced specificity, affinity, reproducibility, and stability over conventional monoclonals.
