General description
ZooMAb antibodies represent an entirely new generation of recombinant monoclonal antibodies. Each ZooMAb antibody is manufactured using our proprietary recombinant expression system, purified to homogeneity, and precisely dispensed to produce robust and highly reproducible lot-to-lot consistency. Only top-performing clones are released for use by researchers. Each antibody is validated for high specificity and affinity across multiple applications, including its most commonly used application. ZooMAb antibodies are reliably available and ready to ship when you need them.Learn more about ZooMAb here.
Immunogen
KLH-conjugated linear peptide corresponding to 20 amino acids from the N-terminal region of human B-cell Lymphoma/leukemia 11 (BCL-11A).
Legal Information
ZooMAb is a registered trademark of Merck KGaA, Darmstadt, Germany
Physical form
Purified recombinant rabbit monoclonal antibody IgG, lyophilized in PBS with 5% Trehalose, normal appearance a coarse or translucent resin. Contains no biocide or preservatives, such as azide, or any animal by-products. Larger pack sizes provided as multiples of 25 µL.
Reconstitution
300 µg/mL after reconstitution at 25 µL per vial. Please refer to guidance on suggested starting dilutions and/or titers per application and sample type.
Specificity
Clone 3B12 is a ZooMAb rabbit recombinant monoclonal antibody that specifically detects B-cell Lymphoma/leukemia 11 (BCL-11A). It targets an epitope within 20 amino acids from the N-terminal region.
Storage and Stability
Recommend storage of lyophilized product at 2-8°C; Before reconstitution, micro-centrifuge vials briefly to spin down material to bottom of the vial; Reconstitute each vial by adding 25 µL of filtered lab grade water or PBS; Reconstituted antibodies can be stored at 2-8°C, or -20°C for long term storage. Avoid repeated freeze-thaws.
Target description
B-cell lymphoma/leukemia 11A (UniProt: Q9H165; also known as BCL-11A, B-cell CLL/lymphoma 11A, COUP-TF-interacting protein 1, Ecotropic viral integration site 9 protein homolog, EVI-9, Zinc finger protein 856) is encoded by the BCL11A (also known as CTIP1, EVI9, KIAA1809, ZNF856) gene (Gene ID: 53335) in human. BCL-11A is a transcription factor associated with the BAF SWI/SNF chromatin remodeling complex that also acts as a repressor of fetal hemoglobin levels and plays a role in hematopoiesis. It is expressed at high levels in brain, spleen thymus, bone marrow and testis. Its expression has also been reported in CD34+ myeloid precursor cells, B-cells, monocytes and megakaryocytes. Its expression is tightly regulated during B-cell development. BCL-11A contains six C2H2 type zinc-finger regions. It is found in the nucleus as well as in the cytoplasm. In the absence of interaction between isoforms 1 and 2, it is predominantly localized in the cytoplasm and localizes to the nuclear paraspeckles when both isoforms are present. Chromosomal aberrations involving BCL11A gene are reported in B-cell malignancies. This ZooMAb recombinant monoclonal antibody, generated by our propriety technology, offers significantly enhanced specificity, affinity, reproducibility, and stability over conventional monoclonals.
