It acts as a substrate for phosphatidylserine synthase (Pss), an enzyme involved in the synthesis of phospholipids in various organisms. CDP-diacylglycerol serves as a precursor for the biosynthesis of phosphatidylinositides. Dysregulated CDP-diacylglycerol signaling pathway leads to depression.
