General description
Anandamide (AEA) is a lipid neurotransmitter, which is produced and released by the neurons in the brain and macrophages. It is an N-acyl ethanolamide derivative of C20,4 fatty acid. AEA is an endogenous ligand for cannabinoid receptors.
