Application
20:4 Lyso PA (LPA) has been used in feeding low density lipoprotein receptor null (LDLR-/-) mice. It is suitable for use as standard for high performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) and liquid chromatography-electrospray ionization-tandem mass spectrometry (LC-ESI-MS/MS) for the quantification of human plasma LPA, and as a strong agonist for lysophosphatidic acid receptor1(LPA1).
Biochem/physiol Actions
Lysophosphatidic acid (LPA) is a bioactive lipid produced in tissues. LPA is involved in signal transduction through G-protein coupled receptors. LPA is implicated in many diseases including atherosclerosis, ischaemia perfusion injury, thrombosis and hypertension. LPA also plays an important role in wound healing processes, autoimmune diseases and tumor metastasis.
General description
Lysophosphatidic acid (LPA) is a lysophospholipid comprising of glycerol 3-phosphate (G3P), fatty acids, and phosphates.
