22:0 PC may be used:to study its effects on non-amyloidogenic processing of amyloid precursor protein (APP)/α-secretase activity to prepare a lipid monolayer to study whether ligand is specifically targeted to domains containing Cu(II)-iminodiacetate lipid (Cu-PSIDA)as a lipid standard for the quantification of lipid species from lipid droplets by hydrophilic interaction liquid chromatography-high performance liquid chromatography (HILIC-HPLC)

The physical properties of membranes can be modulated with the help of fatty acyl configuration of phosphatidylcholines. They act as a vital source for eicosanoids.

General description

The list of Phosphatidylcholine products offered by Avanti is designed to provide compounds having a variety of physical properties. Products available include short chain (C3-C8 are water soluble and hygroscopic), saturated, multi-unsaturated and mixed acid PC′s. All of the products are purified by HPLC, and special precautions are taken to protect the products for oxidization and hydrolysis.

Phosphatidylcholines are phospholipids, that are abundantly present in the membrane. They have fatty acids in the sn-1 and sn-2 positions, that are covalently attached to a glycerol with the help of ester bonds.
