General description
Human Insulin-like Growth Factor 2 (IGF2) contains 67 amino acids and shares similar structural features with IGF1, including a 62% sequence homology. In human plasma, IGF1 and IGF2 are associated with IGF-binding proteins that transport the polypeptides and partially regulate their actions in vivo. In addition to the insulin receptor, IGF2 binds to two forms of IGF receptors, both of which are widely distributed in different tissues and cultured cells. IGF2 is mitogenic for a variety of cultured cells, including mouse 3T3 cells,12 normal rat kidney cells, human or chicken fibroblasts and MCF-7 human breast carcinoma cells.
Immunogen
Epitope: Insulin-like growth factor 2 mature chain
KLH-conjugated linear peptide corresponding to the human Insulin-like growth factor 2 mature chain.
Other Notes
Concentration: Please refer to lot specific datasheet.
Physical form
Affinity purified
Purified rabbit polyclonal in buffer containing 0.1 M Tris-Glycine (pH 7.4), 150 mM NaCl with 0.05% sodium azide.
Quality
Evaluated by Western Blotting in human placenta tissue lysate.
Western Blotting Analysis: A 1:500 dilution of this antibody detected IGF2 in 10 µg of human placenta tissue lysate.
Storage and Stability
Stable for 1 year at 2-8°C from date of receipt.
Target description
~24 kDa observed. This antibody detects all 3 isoforms of IGF2 (20-26 kDa), and may run higher than expected due to glycosylation.
