1,2,3-Trichloropropane Low Level - WS proficiency testing material is produced in accordance with ISO/IEC 17043:2010. This sample is referred as Potable water or Water Supply sample. Preparation Note

Description This PT sample is packaged as a 2 mL concentrate. The solvent for this concentrate is methanol.Sample Preparation Add about 90 mL of organic-free, deionized water to a clean 100-mL class A volumetric flask. Carefully snap the top off the 1,2,3 - Trichloropropane low-level WS ampule. Using a 1-mL class A pipette, transfer 1 mL of the concentrate below the surface of the water in the flask. Dilute with organic-free, deionized water to the line of the volumetric flask. This is the working solution. Cap the flask and mix the working solution by inverting seven times. Add about 90 mL of organic-free, deionized water to a clean 100-mL class A volumetric flask. Using a 1-mL class A pipette, transfer 1 mL of the working solution below the surface of the water in the flask. Dilute with organic-free, deionized water to the line of the volumetric flask. This is the diluted sample. Cap the flask and mix the diluted sample by inverting seven times. Immediately analyze the diluted sample by your normal procedures. The diluted sample will be in the range of 5 - 100 ng/L.
