Ion chromatography (IC) is an analytical process for the separation of ions based on charge affinity. IC can be used for a variety of different kinds of charged analytes from single elements to large proteins. • IC instrument cation check standard 3 is a 125 mL bottle which contains 1,000 µg/mL (1,000 ppm) of calcium cation; 400 µg/mL (400 ppm) of ammonium; 200 µg/mL (200 ppm) of magnesium cation, potassium cation, and sodium cation; and 50 µg/mL (50 ppm) of lithium cation.
