Application

After being activated with silicophilic activators, like fluorides, alkoxides or carboxylates, 4-ethoxycarbonylphenoxytetrafluoroethyl trimethylsilane serves as a nucleophilic source of the 4-ethoxycarbonylphenoxytetrafluoroethyl moiety in reaction with electrophiles such as aromatic aldehydes. The ester group can be used to further build up molecular complexity.
