Biochem/physiol Actions
Ganglioside monosialodihexosylganglioside (GM3) modulates apoptosis, cell proliferation and differentiation. It is also essential for cellular signaling pathways, cell adhesion and mobility. GM3 prevents the action of fibroblast growth factor receptor. Low levels of gangliosideGM3 is associated with the pathogenesis ofrheumatoid arthritis. GM3 maintainsimmunologicalfunctions by inhibiting cytokine production.
General description
