General description

A cell-permeable, TAT conjugated peptide derived from the protein tyrosine phosphatase sigma (PTPsigma) wedge domain that binds to PTPsigma and relieves glial-derived chondroitin sulfate proteoglycan (CSPG)-mediated inhibition. Shown to cross the blood-brain barrier. Does not bind to other CSPG receptors, such as LAR and NgRs. By blocking the PTPsigma-CSPG interaction it abolishes CSPG -mediated inhibition of axonal regrowth and sprouting. Shown to promote adult sensory neuron growth cone (~ 2.5 µM). Restores serotonergic innervations to the spinal cord below the level of injury and promotes progressive functional recovery of both locomotor and urinary systems after spinal cord injury in a rat model (11 µg/day).Please note that the molecular weight for this compound is batch-specific due to variable water content. Please refer to the vial label or the certificate of analysis for the batch-specific molecular weight. The molecular weight provided represents the baseline molecular weight without water.
