General description
Recombinant, human furin expressed in vaccinia virus (VV:hFUR713t) infected BSC-40 cells. Furin is a membrane-associated, calcium-dependent, serine protease that belongs to the subtilisin-like pro-hormone convertase (PC) family. Members of this family cleave pro-hormones, neuropeptide precursors, some viral proteins, and bacterial toxins. The preparation was subjected to UV irradiation for 5 minutes to inactivate any residual virus.

Recombinant, human furin expressed in vaccinia virus (VV:hFUR713t) infected BSC-40 cells. Supplied as a crude preparation of soluble furin obtained from cytoplasmic extracts. Furin is a type I membrane protein that processes stromelysin-3 (MMP-11) and MT1-MMP. It cleaves pro-hormones, neuropeptide precursors, some viral proteins, and bacterial toxins.
