Application

The certified reference material (CRM) is intended to be used as a calibrant for chromatography and other analytical techniques. General description

This certified reference material (CRM) is produced and certified in accordance with ISO/IEC 17025 and ISO 17034. This CRM is traceable to primary material from an NMI, e.g. NIST or NMIJ. Methomyl is a broad-spectrum insecticide that belongs to the family of oxime carbamate pesticides. It controls insects and nematode pests by inhibiting the activity of the enzyme acetylcholinesterase and preventing the hydrolysis of neurotransmitter acetylcholine.(1) Methomyl has to be monitored in the Multiannual Control Programme for Pesticides Residues (MACP), run within the EU and EFTA in/on products of plant origin As per Regulation (EC) No 1107/2009, repealing the directive 91/414, methomyl is not approved for use in the European Union (EU). A maximum residue limit (MRL) of 0.01 mg/kg is applicable for its presence in most of the commodities with an MRL of 0.2 mg/kg particularly for lettuce and cotton seeds, in accordance with Regulation (EU) 2016/1822.
