Application
Fluorescence microscopy, click chemistry, fluorescence spectroscopy.
Features and Benefits
LightOx58 is a fluorescent molecule that exhibits solvatochromatic fluorescence emission when excited with UV-A and violet (405 nm) light sources. In the free, unconjugated form LightOx58 can be used as an intracellular lipid droplet stain, and when photoactivated in a cellular environment, causes cell death through the release of reactive oxygen species (ROS). The N-propargyl group can also be utilized for ′click′ chemistry attachment to an azide-substituted molecule. In a non-polar cellular environment, peak emission wavelength is observed at 475 nm. Stock solutions are typically prepared at 10 mM in DMSO or 1 mM in EtOH.
