Western Blotting Analysis: A 1:1,000 dilution from a representative lot detected LCN13 in mouse lung tissue lysate.
Western Blotting Analysis: A representative lot from an independent laboratory detected LCN13 in liver, muscle, and pancreas tissues, but not in white adipose tissue, from LCN13 transgenic male mice (Cho, K. W., et al. (2011). Mol Cell Biol. 31(3):450-7.).
Western Blotting Analysis: A representative lot from an independent laboratory detected LCN13 in transfected mouse primary hepotcytes cell lysates (Sheng, L, et al. (2011). J Biol Chem. 286(44):38128-38135.).
Western Blotting Analysis: A representative lot detected LCN13 in mouse adipocyte cell lysates and in certain mouse organ tissues lysates (Zhou, Y. and Rui, L., (2013). Vitam Horm. 91:369-383.).

General description
Epididymal-specific lipocalin-13 (LCN13) is also called Odorant-binding protein 2a (Obp2a). LCN13 is a secreted protein that is thought to act as a retinoid carrier protein within the epididymis, and have a role in male fertility. LCN13 is expressed in the epididymis.
Immunogen
Recombinant protein corresponding to mouse LCN13.
Other Notes
Concentration: Please refer to the Certificate of Analysis for the lot-specific concentration.
Physical form
Rabbit polyclonal serum with 0.05% sodium azide.
Unpurified
Quality
Evaluated by Western Blotting in mouse skin tissue lysate.
Western Blotting Analysis: A 1:1,000 dilution of this antibody detected LCN13 in 10 µg of LCN13 mouse skin tissue lysate.
Specificity
This antibody detects two observed isoforms of LCN13.
Storage and Stability
Stable for 1 year at -20°C from date of receipt.
Handling Recommendations: Upon receipt and prior to removing the cap, centrifuge the vial and gently mix the solution. Aliquot into microcentrifuge tubes and store at -20°C. Avoid repeated freeze/thaw cycles, which may damage IgG and affect product performance.
Target description
~20 kDa observed. Two observed isoforms at ~20 kDa and ~28 kDa are likely due to proteolytic cleavage of a common LCN13 precursor (Cho, K. W., et al. (2011). Mol Cell Biol. 31(3):450-7.). Uncharacterized band(s) may be observed in some cell lysates.
