General description
Fidgetin is a AAA protein that belongs to the meitoic or subfamily-7 (SF7) group of ATPases. These enzymes are associated with many different general cellular activities, such as but not limited to, membrane fusion, proteolysis, metabolic signaling, peroxisome biogenesis, endosome sorting, and meiotic spindle formation. However, the specific functions and mechanisms for SF7 AAA proteins remain largely unclear. It is reported that mutant Fidgetin is found in a mammalian developmental mutant and is suggested to play in role in embryonic development.
Immunogen
KLH-conjugated linear peptide corresponding to human Fidgetin.
Other Notes
Concentration: Please refer to the Certificate of Analysis for the lot-specific concentration.
Physical form
Affinity purified
Purified rabbit polyclonal in buffer containing 0.1 M Tris-Glycine (pH 7.4), 150 mM NaCl with 0.05% sodium azide.
Quality
Evaluated by Western Blot in mouse brain tissue lysate.
Western Blot Analysis: 1 µg/mL of this antibody detected Figetin in 10 µg of mouse brain tissue lysate.
Storage and Stability
Stable for 1 year at 2-8°C from date of receipt.
Target description
~60 kDa observed.
The calculated molecular weight of this protein is 82 kDa, but is observed at ~60 kDa due to a splice variant (Yang, Y., et al. (2005). Experimental Cell Research. 304:50-58).
Uncharacterized bands may be observed at ~25 kDa and ~57 kDa in some tissue lysates.
