General description

Ectonucleoside triphosphate diphosphohydrolase 1 (EC:3.6.1.5; UniProt P49961; also known as CD39, Ecto-apyrase, Ecto-ATP diphosphohydrolase 1, Ecto-ATPDase 1, Ecto-ATPase 1, Lymphoid cell activation antigen, NTPDase 1) is encoded by the ENTPD1 (also known as CD39, SPG64) gene (Gene ID 953) in human. CD39 is a cell surface nucleotide-metabolizing enzyme that hydrolyzes extracellular purine NTP and NDP. CD39 is a putative marker for B-cell activation and its expression is also observed on NK-cells, dendritic cells, T-cells, and vascular endothelial cells. CD39 is a known inhibitor of ADP-induced platelet aggregation and may also play a role in angiogenesis. E. coli infection is reported to induce CD39 promoter activity in macrophages, resulting in an upregulated CD39 expression during sepsis in mice, while CD39 knockdown increases mortality among mice with polymicrobial sepsis.

Immunogen

Epitope: extracellular domain

KLH-conjugated linear peptide corresponding to the extracellular domain of human ENTPD1.

Other Notes

Concentration: Please refer to lot specific datasheet.

Physical form

Affinity purified

Purified rabbit polyclonal antibody in buffer containing 0.1 M Tris-Glycine (pH 7.4), 150 mM NaCl with 0.05% sodium azide.

Quality

Evaluated by Western Blotting in human placenta cell lysate.

Western Blotting Analysis: 0.5 µg/mL of this antibody detected ENTPD1 in 10 µg of human placenta cell lysate.

Specificity

Expeccted to react with all six spliced isoforms, including the Vascular and the Placenta I&II isoforms.

Stable for 1 year at 2-8°C from date of receipt.

Target description

~65 kDa observed when using human placenta tissue lysates. Glycosylated target band(s) will appear larger than the calculated molecular weights of 58.0 kDa (Isoform 1/Vascular), 58.7 kDa ((Isoform 2/Placenta I), 34.2 kDa (Isoform 3/Placenta II), 42.7 kDa (Isoform 4), 46.2 kDa (Isoform 5), and 59.3 kDa (Isoform 6). Uncharacterized band(s) may appear in some lysates.
