General description

Death Associated Protein 5 (DAP-5) is a protein with high amino acid sequence homology to Eukaryotic Translation Initiation Factor 4G (eIF4G). Compared with eIF4G, DAP5 lacks the N-terminal region necessary for cap-dependent translation and has a unique C-terminal part functioning as a regulator for interferon-gamma induced cell death. DAP5 is cleaved at Asp790 during apoptosis . The C-terminal truncated form of DAP5 functions as a cap-independent translation initiation factor responsible for the mediation of its own translation during apoptosis.

Immunogen

Epitope: Unknown

KLH-conjugated linear peptide corresponding to human DAP-5.

Physical form

Rabbit polyclonal serum containing 0.05% sodium azide.

Unpurified

Quality

Evaluated by Western Blot on Jurkat cell lysate.

Western Blot Analysis: 1:1,000 dilution of this antibody detected DAP-5 on 10 µg of jurkat cell lysate.

Specificity

This antibody recognizes DAP-5.

Storage and Stability

Stable for 1 year at -20°C from date of receipt. Upon receipt and prior to removing the cap, centrifuge the vial and gently mix the solution. Aliquot into microcentrifuge tubes and store at -20°C. Avoid repeated freeze/thaw cycles, which may damage IgG and affect product performance.
