Tripartite motif containing 16 (TRIM16) is transcriptional repressor belonging to tripartite motif family. It is described as a tumor suppressor protein that interacts with vimentin and E2F1 proteins. It inhibits cell proliferation by inducing cell cycle arrest in G1/S phase in neuroblastoma cells. TRIM16 has the ability to heterodimerize with other TRIM proteins and exhibits E3 ubiquitin ligase activity.
