Application
Western Blot Analysis:1 µg/mL from a representative lot detected PRDM5 on 10 µg of HeLa cell lysate and HeLa nuclear extract.
Use Anti-PRDM5 Antibody (Rabbit Polyclonal Antibody) validated in WB to detect PRDM5 also known as PR domain-containing protein 5.
General description
PRDM5 is a member of the PR-domain containing family of tumor suppressors. PRDM5 activates histone methyltransferase G9a and class I histone deacetylases to regulate transcription. PRDM5 typically functions as a transcriptional repressor but can also be an activator for endogenous target genes. PRDM5 has often been found to be silenced in human breast, ovarian and liver cancers and and is a candidate biomarker for certain cancers, such as gastrointestinal cancer. Additional studies have also linked the loss of PRDM5 function to the development and pathogenesis of cervical cancer.
Immunogen
Linear peptide corresponding to human PRDM5.
Other Notes
Concentration: Please refer to the Certificate of Analysis for the lot-specific concentration.
Quality
Evaluated by Western Blot in PC3 cell lysate.
Western Blot Analysis: 1 µg/mL of this antibody detected PRDM5 on 10 µg of PC3 cell lysate.
Target description
~75 kDa observed. Three isoforms at 73, 70, and 13 kDa have been described. Uncharacterized bands between 13 and 73 kDa may be observed in some lysates.
