α-Tocopherol (vitamin E) is a lipid-soluble antioxidant found in whole grains, nuts, andoils. It is known to scavenge reactive oxygen species by interacting with lipids duringoxidative stress.α-Tocopherol-(trimethylphenyl-¹³C₉) is an isotope of vitamin E wherein all the six phenyl carbons and three methyl carbons attached to the phenyl ring are replaced by ¹³C₆ carbon.
